Heroes!!

How do I spend my time sometimes? Why .. . Nerding, of course. This is a little piece Im working on inspired by a T-shirt I got in Walmart.

John Ensign - Naughty Boy . . .

A cover and interior spread for the great Maureen Adamo at Las Vegas CityLife. It's fun doing a story about sexual indiscretion!

Adam Janes

LA based artist Adam Janes has some super work. I always like people who have a good control over vibrant color. He's got a very nice manic, but tempered feel.

Inaugural Visit to Citi Field!

I went to see the Mets defeat the Cards in a 3 - 2 pitchers duel between Johan Santana and Chris Carpenter. Nice stadium. Im an old codger at heart and I still prefer Shea, but the new House of Amazin' grew on me a bit. A win always helps.

Mercury Comet

A little portrait of my buddy Wes' 1964 ?. . 3? Mercury Comet. It's from my favorite car era being post big fins, and pre-totally boxy.

Khomeini

Did I say everyday? I meant every weekday . . . here's the lil' Khomeiniac I painted up on Saturday. Had the urge to do some portrait work, and he's got a great mug.

Pong Ping

One of my favorite games in the world, and probably the only indoor sport beside pool that I can really get behind. This is from a few years ago, but Im trying to put up something new everyday . . . We'll see how that goes!!

David Byrne For One Smacker!

Caught David Byrne last night at the Prospect Park band shell. A great show - especially for the "Suggested Donation" of 3$! (I only had a buck on me:)) I will say, trying to sketch in the dark, dance, and draw is rather diffficult . . .

V-Day . . .

Why do I do art? It affirms my existence, it's a calling like thunder in my ear, the universe looks better with more pictures . . . Sure, but mostly to get girls. This was one of my Valentine's Day presents for Michelle from last year. Throw in a man, a woman, a group of intertwining "noodles" as she calls them, and a sarcastic statement relating to age, and boom. Grotesque to romance in 4 easy steps.

Conspiracy!

A 3' x 4' painting I had a lot of fun doing a few years ago. One of a few large-format-completed-in-24 hours-paintings. A full day of fun i should say. . .

I love my mini-sketchbook!

Arm Wrestling

My friend Hoppie started a Bartender Olympics down in Chapel Hill and had me do the illos for the fliers. Events included: Karaoke, Arm Wrestling, Air Guitar, and a Battle of the Bands. A good time was had by all.

Edgar DeGraff

A portrait of my Grandfather who I unfortunately never had the pleasure of meeting. He was the last of three generations of DeGraff men to be Presbyterian ministers, and from what I hear, a hell of a good whistler.

This season's new Freddies are out . . .

The Freddies continue. More to come on the new site, coming as soon as I can figure the dang internets out!

Green

Two full page spots and some lil' fellas for Maureen Adamo at Las Vegas CityLife. I had fun with these fellas. Man, I am obsessed with traffic jams.

Natty History

Drawing from the dioramas at the Natural History Museun in NY. A little 4-5 year old girl walked up beside and said, "Oh my. What a talent you are!". It was precocious and patronizing at the same time. God Bless the chilluns.

Big Fun Wedding!

Michelle Provencal, me, Greg Zadrozny (the groom), Delano Dunn, Chang Park and his lovely daughter Emily, and Owen Sherwood - a Pratt reunion, and a hell of a wedding.

The Benediction

My good friend Caleb providing his blessing at the end of an eventful evening.

The Times, They are a changin'

NYT Op-ed piece for Leanne Shapton. Made me realize what a weird room the Oval Office must be . . . But you cant get cornered! . . Ha ha . . . uh . . hrm.

Save the Date!

My Big Bro Nate is getting married to the lovely and talented Katie Reetz, and they let me get my grubby little hands on the save the date card:). Gonna be a great wedding. Very excited!

Allergic Reaction!

Piece for the super nice Annemarie Neff at American Medical News, which is sadly no longer printing on paper but has moved onto digital pastures . . . Saving money - yes. Saving trees - yes. . . But mark my word, paper is king. Long live the king.
